Hmmm. I strongly recommend AGAINST adding a new category if you can help
it. Adding a new category requires editing the definition file. This means
that you'll have compatability problems with the next release of the
Mordheim files from Colen. If you can, please use an existing item category
for your items. Through use of the "ityp" attribute, you can restrict the
items you add to only be available to the units you want. If you MUST add a
new category, please coordinate this with Colen, since he can then be sure
to include the new category in his next update of the core Mordheim data files.

Hope this helps,
Rob

This is what I was slowly beginning to realize. Not a problem... ;)
I wanted to add the category War Spells specifically for the War
Wizards. I have lumped everything together so far...I can keep it that
way. It's just not as pretty when it is displayed in the application.

Thanks...

Why not just put them in the 'Magic Spells' category?

Problem so far is that by using an Augmentation on the Arcane Lore
skill, as soon as anybody takes that skill, they have access to the
WarMagic. Only the War Wizards can use this extended list of spells.

I followed what Rob had stated in an earlier post.

Thanks...

OK, it's time to get a little crafty. :-)

Have the Arcane Lore skill assign a type of "ArcaneLore" (or some such).
Then, create an option that is hidden and assigns the type "WarWizard" to
the unit it's attached to. Also assign this option to be conditional on the
type of its parent unit via "utyp:ArcaneLore-all". Lastly, attach this new
option to the War Wizard unit via an "incl" link nature.

The net effect of this is as follows....

When the War Wizard unit is first added, the hidden option won't be
enabled, becuase the type "ArcaneLore" isn't present for the unit. When you
select the Arcane Lore skill, the new type WILL be present. This will
enable the option that then assigns the type "WarWizard" to the unit. Once
the "WarWizard" type is available, the unit will then be able to select the
proper spell(s).

Let me know if you have any difficulties with this...

Thanks, Rob
