Issue with latest LawfulG update

I'm not sure what I did but when I just recently updated lawful_g stuff it wiped out all my own content plus all the other stuff I have downloaded. They are not even able to be selected from the list where you can select house rules and options. All the stuff is gone from the list. How do I fix this problem as all my characters are now broken or missing stuff.
 
Are you getting an error message when you load d20? If so you can right click on it and select copy and paste it here. That will help us narrow down the issue.
 
errrors I get

These are the errors I am getting when I click on the 3.5 game system in hero lab. I think there might be more stuff missing than is showing in the errors I'm not sure. All my custom races and everything are gone.


The data files could not be loaded due to errors. Hero Lab will now attempt to load them in recovery mode. Once loaded, you can access the editor as normal to correct any errors.

First your stuff is not gone just not loading. When HL hits an error it loads in safe mode and does not load any .user files.

Do you have your own custom file for Forgotten Realms? Cause the errors are saying that you have two different .user files with the exact same Thing ID.
 
First off, you should try removing CustFE-d20-Incantatrix.user from your data folder. The information in there was transferred into another file for the community set. To be on the safe side, I would move it to another location. That should at least reduce your errors. Tutorial.user is also not part of the community set. If you moved that to another folder, it should all compile. That may cause issues with your portfolio, however. If it does, we can try to figure out what needs to be changed and where. It may be possible to strip out some data from your .user files so that they will mesh together. If you aren't sure how to do this, you can attach the file here, and I can take a look at it.
 
Yes the file named tutorial.user is my file that I used to save my custom stuff. It still doesn't explain why all the other custom stuff is missing from the list. When I click new character portfolio a window comes up and has a list of settings to select for the hero.
Examples are Lawful G's custom stuff, User content where the incantatrix PRc is, 3.0 D&D books, 3.5 books. It all seems to be missing from the list to select anymore since I downloaded the new Lawful G update. I'm not saying he did anything wrong I'm just not sure why the program is now missing all those selections from the list now. I have a lap top that I did not load the new Lawful G and my desk top that I did download the Lawful G. I just can't seem to figure out why this is happening.
 
ok that brought back all the 3.0 and 3.5 books in the list but how do I get all my custom stuff back in that I built?
 
Hrm... I'm looking at the error list, and I'm quite impressed, that the tutorial.user file would have the same unique ids as much of the content from the new faerun material. If I had realized there would be so much problems I would have waited and tried to get some feedback on what would or wouldn't have conflicted.

Though, I also wonder what I might have been able to do, we'd still have conflicting data. I myself had to remake some of my Portfolios with this recent update, because of unique id tweeks.

Then again, faerun is so big in the D&D universe its probably not surpising that people would have made their own content to fill the gap. That being said, if there is anyway I can assist in this I would be only to willing to help.

Also, where did you get your Tutorial.user, did you make that yourself, because I see you have Slyth, Gloaming and many of the same items I made faerun files.
 
Well, hrm, this could be tricky, as has been said repeatedly the new content contains a lot of material including all of the feats listed in your error and more. I could suggest, redoing your characters to match up with the new content as that will be in the user files, but that would be a great deal of work if you have many portfolios and many characters. However, it seems much of what you have shares the same unique ids. That is a blessing, it means that when you shift things over to the new material it will try to reference the new material.

As far as races and classes go this is a good thing. For me to get an idea how difficult this is going to be I'd need to see your tutorial.user myself, and perhaps one of your portfolios.

I dont know if this is acceptable to you, but if you want you could place it here and I'd be willing to review the extent of tweaking that will need to be done.

First off, let me explain why everything is missing when you look for the sources. When an error occurs compiling the user files, none of the user files will compile. For example, if you have even one conflict then none of the user data stuff will appear. That's why none of the Lawful_G custom stuff, 3.0, 3.5 etc. stuff isn't appearing. Once we get it compiling, it will all show up again. Right now, the trick is to get to that point.

I would probably start by removing any files that aren't part of the community set. Make sure everything compiles then slowly re-introduce files. Sounds like your tutorial.user file may be the only one which should make things a little easier. Since you used the same thingids, removing them from your file really shouldn't affect anything in the portfolios. With any luck, its just the languages which aren't likely to have any scripts or anything like that.

I got most of the errors taken care of slowly. I'm still having these two errors and I am unable to find what or where they are.

Duplicate attempt to replace thing 'sClrStBody' by things 'sClrStBod1' and 'sClrStoBod'
Duplicate attempt to replace thing 'sPalLawSwd' by things 'sPalLawSw1' and 'sPalLawSwo'

I thought "s" was spell but I could be wrong. If anyone might know where or what they are I would appreciate the insight so I can fix them.
