Is this a bug? Or me getting the rules wrong?

My 4th-level fighter uses a longsword in one hand and a spiked light shield in the other. It was my understanding that putting spikes on a shield causes the shield to be counted as a piercing weapon as well as a shield. However, I took the Two-Weapon Defense feat and my Armor Class does not change when I set the longsword and shield to be equipped in my hands.

I think that my AC should go up by +1 when I have the Two-Weapon Defense feat and a weapon equipped in each hand.

Am I wrong about this?

On each of the items on the weapon and armor tabs are checkboxes, so you can select which weapons and armor you're currently using, and for weapons, which hand you're currently using them in. Please double-check that on the weapons tab, you have one weapon equipped in your main hand and the weapon stats of your shield equipped in your off hand (until you have the improved shield bash feat, you have to choose to either equip the shield's AC on the armor tab or its attack stats on the weapons tab). I just checked, and having things set up that way should activate the two-weapon defense feat.

Just wanted to also point that that the AC bonus that Two-Weapon Defense provides is a Shield bonus. Which is the same bonus a shield provides so they won't stack.

Now then as Mathias mentioned if you use the shield as a weapon and lose its AC bonus then you could gain the bonus from Two-Weapon Defense.

Aha! That's the problem, then. With Improved Shield Bash, my fighter is using his shield both to attack and defend at full bonuses. I was mistaking "You gain a +1 shield bonus to your AC" for "Your shield bonuses improved by +1..." I didn't realize the bonuses don't stack in this case.

Okay, that is my mistake, thank you gents.

Oh also, I cannot seem to delete the Two-Weapon Defense feat. It's colored green and the option to delete it is grayed out (and there's no X in a circle next to its name.

How do I get rid of the feat?

If it was originally added as a fighter bonus feat, delete it on the fighter tab.
