iPad crashing with 7.1 update

So here is the report I get can anyone help me figure out what's wrong!

Hi,

I'm IOS Beta tester and I have open a case (Case 34399) at Support Team since 01/21/2014 for the crash problem with the IOS7.1 and I have not answer since this date :(
 
Any word on this yet?

One of my players just told me this morning that after his update on the iPad air, he cannot even open Hero Lab.

I am holding off on the update until I hear Hero Lab will work smoothly. Do we think this will be addressed in the next update?
 
The new iOS 7.1 made a change that stops Hero Lab from running, and we'll be submitting an update to the app store to fix it ASAP. Once the update is released, we'll notify you to let you know it’s available. We’re sorry for the inconvenience.

On a separate note, does anyone know if you can "un-update" your iPad so HeroLab works again...?
 
We submitted the update to Apple for review on Wednesday. We find from past submissions that it usually takes Apple about one week to review and approve our submissions.

As far as I know and have found no you can't. Even those with Jailbroken phones are having issues trying to rollback. Apple no longer will sign a 7.0.6 OS version so even if you can find a way to do the rollback you will be using a unsigned version of the OS downloaded from some third-party site.

Looks like we just wait. I guess it was good I was so busy that I didn't update my iPad. ;)
 
Does anyone know of a way to extract your character sheet from hero lab without opening hero lab? I was one of the first in our group to update and find the issue with 7.1, unfortunately my character sheet for the last two sessions of gaming is now being held hostage on my iPad. As much as I like Apples IOS, if this had happened on my droid. I'd just go into the file manager and download my character sheet to use on my laptop, while I waited for the fix to be approved. Instead I'm scrambling to recreate my character changes for a game tonight. Hmm, yes I do remember the DM using the words legendary while talking about that sword we found. ;-)

Any suggestions?
 
Yes... if you open iTunes on your computer, and plug in you iPad, you can save any of the portfolios from your iPad onto your computer. If you don't normally transfer files this way, you go into the iPad, click on the Apps tab, and down at the bottom there is a section titled "File Sharing". Hero Lab Play should be on the list, and you can select "Save to..." to save any of your portfolios. It appears that the files I've saved this way show all the changes from the last session.
 
Don't you have access to the files that are stored in the app from iTunes?
For same apps, you can select the app in iTunes (once the iPad is connected) and see the files there.
 
It's fairly easy. Dock your iPad to your computer, open iTunes, go into the iPad's App folder in iTunes, go down the list of apps and click on hEroLab, then 'save to' the character portfolio as needed.
 
Great thanks for the help. Very new to the ipad so I was hoping this might be possible. But, at the moment I'm still stuck. Connected Ipad, opened Itunes and can see the apps. But the only option I can seem to find when I click on the HeroLap Icon is a X in the Top Left corner. I don't see any SAVE AS option. Is there some Itunes Option setting I need to check off first before I get the open to SAVE AS?

iPad crash when updating to 7.1

Is there a bug fix coming for this issue? Or is there anything I could do?

It just starts and crash.
 
LWD have submitted an update to Apple. Should appear some time in the coming week. Keep an eye out here, or submit a bug report to LWD, and you'll know when the fix is available.
