M&M 2nd ed. Importing Stock Hero

When I try to import a stock hero (Portfolio -> Import Stock Hero) it brings in an item I'm not selecting.

Example: I select from the Instant Superheroes (A-D) the Android, it imports the Duplicator. I select the Swashbuckler from the (S-Z) option and it brings in the Weather Controller.

I'm thinking this has happened since the upgrade to 4.1 but I haven't been using 2e all that much lately, so I'm not sure when this started.

I checked this in 3e, and the imports work fine.

Ideas?

It did start with the new update. I think it only happens with the Instant Superheroes stock heroes. The other data sets seem to work fine. But it is a pain because I use the I.S. stock heroes a lot on the fly for bad guys!

No, when I try to import "Rogue Grue" from the Freedom City portfolio, I get "Utopian Envoy."

"Powered Armor" from Street Level Archetypes, I get "Wandering Mystic."

Newish User here - I'm seeing the same thing with M&M 2E - one new player wants to play a totem warrior from Instant Superheroes and everytime I import it I get a weather controller. In fact if I choose "import all" from the I.S. S-Z list then I get 30-something weather controllers with only a swashbuckler and a shapeshifter to break up the monotony :)

I'm too new to help much on a resolution but maybe some kind of key or index is being misread?

FWIW, as an interim solution, you can open .stock files as portfolio files and then save the characters off and/or import them into another portfolio. Not as convenient, but it should work as a workaround until this is fixed.

Where do you find or how do you access the .stock files without using the import stock hero tab?

For me, they were in my C:\ProgramData\Hero Lab\data\mutants (or C:\ProgramData\Hero Lab\data\mutants3) directory. Just open HL, load whichever version you're using, click "Open File", and select the proper directory. You'll get a list of .stock files. Select one and click "Open."

Interesting: Just tried opening the 2nd Edition Street Level Archetypes .stock file and only got the Wandering Mystic. Seems like there's something really weird going on there.
