I just received this friendly, happy message from Yahoo Groups:

While I'm sure we'll all be devastated that outsiders won't be able to
access our Photos section any more, this is very important from the point
of view of the Files section. Previously, many of the data files were held
on the yahoo groups servers, so they could be accessible through the Card
Vault automatic updates mechanism; starting on August 7th, this will no
longer be possible.
Anyone still using the yahoogroups servers to hold data files should begin
using the http://www.datafilesrus.com/ web site as soon as possible, or
users will not be able to access those updates from within CV (this would
be a Bad Thing). Authors needing to upload files can use the same username
/ password as they have been using to access the CV automatic updates
mechanism.
