Import Error

I keep receiving the following error when I try importing another campaign. I previously imported it without any problems. Any ideas?

The following errors were encountered during import:

This may be hard to explain.

Is this a case where you are importing a full realm that has been modified into a copy of that full realm that has also been modified since the last time you did the import? If so that is almost sure to fail. DaPlunk can more fully explain the problem but it was a problem we encountered in the Nibirium community realm.

I have a base D&D 5e realm that I am continuously working on. I exported it to a separate realm for a specific campaign, and as I update the base realm, I have been exporting it and importing it into the campaign realm. I have done so numerous times before now without any issues. If I can not continue to do this, it will greatly limit the usefulness of the program for me, especially since a friend will be using my base realm as well for his campaign

My experience with this specific error was always related to moving a contained topic after you had imported into the new realm.

In example

Topic A is the container and Topic B is a child inside of B. You export and import into new realm without issue. Then in the master realm you move Topic B to be a child of topic C. Now you try and import you get this error.

Only way I found to fix was to delete both topic A and B from the realm you are importing into. Then do the import again. Then run the full realm search to find matching topics.

In the future once you set a container don’t move it. :(

Also you must never modify anything in the child realm ever, except reveal states.

in other words: it's broken ^^

Havn't tried thiss though yet :)
Export/import started out very buggy and got much better. So we pushed it even harder. It's still a long way from good enough but for most basic uses, exporting a realm for use in the CM or sharing with someone else, it works fine. That it doesn't work for collaborative realms or for master child realms doesn't mean the whole thing is broken.
