How to *make* a skin?

I realise that the wolflair page gives some info on how to make a
skin. However, that section admits that details on how to create the
actual .dll file are "beyond the scope of this page".

My question is, how do I make the .dll file? I've been dying to make
my own skin for quite some time now.

For the record, I tried my standerd "open the file in question with
notepad and see if I can edit it that way". Sadly that won't work in
this case. It seems I need some sort of program to create the .dll,
I would appreciate suggestions on what software to use from people
who have knowledge about this sort of thing.

Thanks in advance.

I am interested in what 'skins' other have created. I can not find any on
the Wolflair site.

There is one in the ab-files group file section (or is it armybuilder
group? I can not remember for sure).

Overheard in a bar in the Corbia Sector.

You'll need to get hold of a "Resource Editor", you can try searching
for one on many of the Shareware sites... I think Colen managed to
track one down during AB Beta testing... Colen?

Enjoy,
Russell.

There are two on the Wolf Lair site. Go to Cool Extras, Extensions, Custom
Interface Extensions. There you'll find two skin sets to give a try to.

Thanks, Rob

Colen said he found a bunch of them on download.com. I recommend trying
these first.

Thanks, Rob

If you happen to have Visual C++ lurking around, and you're using Windows
NT or Windows 2000, you can use that. Otherwise you'll have to download a
'resource editor' program. Try searching for 'Resource hacker' on
download.com, that's what I used for most of it.
