How to get on the team and a new manual?

Just dropping a line here I have been working on some datafiles for armybuilder V2.2 for a friend and i have started using the V3.1 creator kit to design some new ones for my own use. I just wanted to know is there an in depth manual to using these creators and if so where can I get it? also wanting to know how to become part of the volunteer team for the datafile releases?

The included documentation for the Authoring Kit is the only material available. Given that it's hundreds of pages worth of documentation, I'm not sure how much more "in depth" you're looking for.

In the case of both V2.x and V3.1, the Authoring Kit is a separate download from the product itself. Both downloads are available through our website. Starting with V3.2, the Authoring Kit is incorporated into a single installer for the product, so you get it automatically.

If you have created new data files for V3.x, we can get you setup with an author account. You'll find the details on the process, including a list of what we need, in the Authoring Kit documentation. From the main page of the documentation, follow the link entitled "Distributing Data Files".

ok thanks mate will do. Another question, Do the author's create entire system datafiles by themselves or are they broken up ie: one person does Space marines, the next Dark Angels, the next Eldar? or are they just one person does 40k the next Fantasy the other LoTR? I also have experience working for GW if thats of any help

That's completely dependent on the game system. For 40K, there is a team working on the data files. For some other games, it is a lone individual.

If there is a specific game system that you want to help out with, I recommend contacting the current data file author(s) and offering your assistance. You'll find the contact info for the author under the Help menu within AB when the game system is loaded.

An extensive set of 40K datafiles are maintained by the team at ab40k.org and we are always looking for input. You can also check in the datafile specific forums here for other active game systems.

Ok next question then. Are you guys ever looking for people to update the V2.2 datafiles of army builder with info from the new codices?

If you are referring to the 40k datafiles, the maintainers no longer support that version of files. There is no current standard maintainer for them either at time time that I am aware of. I know that at one time Homer was doing that work, but as he is now working on the 3.x files I am unsure if he is still doing 2.2 work as well.
