How to get Flurry/Power Attack to show up on pdf?

Monk FoB - Great!

That will be great. I'll keep a look out on this board for a new version.

What expansions does the current Monk FoB fix need?

A new version of the Flurry of Blows add-on is available. This one is designed to work with just the CORE data set of HL for those without the extra data sets. So if you get errors with the normal one then remove it and use the below version instead.

Thanks stragen for helping test this change. :)

Download PFRPG_Monk_FoB_CORE.user from d20pfsrd in the zMisc folder.

This is a wonderful fix. Is there any chance of this update being able to be applied to Zen Archers????

Very cool guys. I just bought the software today, and was trying to figure out the answer to this very question. Now I'm going to try to figure out how to add this user content to my Zen Archer monk. :) Thanks!!

I downloaded the normal (non-core) one, since I have additional data sets installed. After adding the file to the C:\Hero Lab\Data\Pathfinder folder and restarting HL, I got the following error:

The data files could not be loaded due to errors. Hero Lab will now attempt to load them in recovery mode. Once loaded, you can access the editor as normal to correct any errors.

The following errors occurred:

Syntax error in 'eval' script for Thing 'cMnkFlur' (Eval Script '#5') on line 37
-> Non-existent thing 'fPiranStr' referenced by script

yeah this add-on is not working. trying to use it in demo mode, as i am testing it out to see if i should buy HL. so far the answer is no.

You don't have "Piranha Strike" feat from "Sargava, the Lost Colony" so you will need to use the CORE version of the addon.

@scorpionx1 saying it doesn't work means I can't really help much. What error are you getting? You can right click on the error and COPY it. If your in Demo mode the only one you could even try is the CORE version. Honestly I have never tested any of the addon's for Demo mode I assume some of them should work but I can't guarantee anything.

Available on new Mac version?

Are these custom fixes applicable to the new Mac version of HL? I can't seem to find the equivalent of the "data" folder on my Mac. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Also have an error with core version

Shadow,

Thanks for the work, first of all. I installed the original version and got an error before I read about the core version. I only have the Pathfinder ruleset for HL, and no additional data sets (that I know of). So I downloaded the "Core" version and added it to my data files. When I started HL back up and selected the Pathfinder system, I got this error:

The data files could not be loaded due to errors. Hero Lab will now attempt to load them in recovery mode. Once loaded, you can access the editor as normal to correct any errors.

The following errors occurred:

Syntax error in 'eval' script for Thing 'cMnkFlur' (Eval Script '#3') on line 19
-> Non-existent thing 'fCripCrit' referenced by script

When I clicked "OK", HL continued to load up the Pathfinder system, but I could not find any changes. I am guessing this means it didn't work, but I'm not really sure what the changes are supposed to look like.

I hope this information helps, and if I'm just being clueless feel free to chastise me accordingly (but with a patient explanation, please).

Did a little checking: Crippling Critical (which I assume is what 'fCripCrit' represents) is not an available feat in the core Pathfinder Ruleset (presumably because it is not available in the core rulebook; it's an APG addition). If I simply remove that section of the Eval Script, would that correct the problem?

Did more tinkering: Crippling Critical, Stunning Assault and Dazing Assault are all from the APG set and not included in the HL core pathfinder gamesystem. Removing their lines (involving 'fCripCrit', 'fStunAssa' and 'fDazeAssa', if I recall correctly) from Eval Script #3 of 'cMnkFlur' eliminated the error.

New question

Okay, now that I've got it working, I have a question about how to use it. I added the adjustment "FoB Weapon", but it only allows me to add it once and only to one weapon. Is there a way to use this with two different weapons (for example, a +2 Kama and a +1 Kama, or even a +1 flaming Sai and a +2 keen Kama)?

Also, the attack bonus (not the one in the name) keeps showing up as if it were a single main hand attack (rather than the FoB adjusted BAB with the -2 penalty). Is there a way to get the attack bonus stat to calculate properly?

I just want to get the best use out of this I can.

Thanks again for the mod. Keep up the good work, we really do appreciate it.

Unfortunately the way the scripts work it can only be on a single weapon. I have "ideas" for a rebuild of this mod that should fix this issue. Its just that my current real life client is a Flower company and I am still trying to recover from "Mothers Day". :(

Sorry as I am not near HL right now I am not 100% understanding this. There is a option to activate FoB on the "In-Play" tab which changes the BAB. Is that what you mean?

When I get near HL again I will try and take a look.

No, that's not quite what I mean.

When I activate the FoB weapon funtionality, it allows me to select a weapon (Kama, for example) to use with my flurry. At level 4 with no attributes, the Flurry of Blows attack modifier would be +2, which is what shows up in the new weapon name ("Kama FoB +2/+2"). However, the attack modifier displayed under the weapon still reads, "Melee: +3". I don't know if there's any way for this to be real important, as Herolab does not (as far as I know) do any dicerolling/resolution functions. But it's just something I noticed in trying out the new dataset.

Duh I get what your saying now. From what I know no I can't correctly affect the "Melee: +3" value which is why we fell back to changing the "livename" of the weapon.

Plus my thought is that if you use a Printed Character sheet you will correctly show both values. As in if you moved and used a standard action to attack then it would be +3. If you get to do the full-round action then it would be +2.

Hope that helps...

Okay, cool.

Now, last question (hopefully). Is the script compatable with the Zen Archer archetype's Flurry of Blows with the bow? I'm having trouble getting it to treat the bow as a Flurry of Blows weapon the way the normal monk build treats one of its melee weapons (that is, I can't get it to change the livename of the bow to "Longbow FoB +x/+x".

Actually one of my own players tried doing this just recently and it turns out the script is hard-coded to only allow Melee weapons. :(

When/if I get a chance to redo the script I will do my best to make sure it works with Zen Archer/bows.

This may not be the appropriate place for this post... since it's both regarding the TWF and Flurry.....

For the example... I am using the latest version of HL with updated pathfinder files.

I create a new character and for easy reference I let all ability scores be 10 so no bonuses at all.

I take one lvl of monk and thus recieve the flurry of blows special ability. Now under weapon I see unarmed strike 1d6 and Melee+0. If I look at the abilities tab and then attack bonus I can see a Attack (Melee): +0 stat. Which indicates that my character can do one attack at +0 attack bonus.

This seems wrong to me..shouldn't it show as Attack (Melee): -1/-1 (Bab =1 monk lvl -2 on both attacks). I noticed it shows that on the Flurry of Blows special ability. However I would indeed like to see this under the weapon/abilities tab as well.

Also if I choose to use kamas and click the main hand and offhand equip boxes then I get a message saying I can use a light weapon in offhand. I should indeed be able to use two kamas. Do I click anything wrong?

Now over to the TWF feat... I created a character with 10 in all abilities then I have him lvling up 1 lvl in monk, 3 lvls in fighter and 1 lvl in cleric. Now I have choose the Two weapon fighting feat. I now have 3 BAB and weapon and abilities show +3 and one attack. And this time I can't find the relevant info on neiter feats (where twf is listed) or special abilities. I know for sure that it should be at least 2 attacks.

Am I doing something wrong? Or is it as I am thinking... something that is missing?

Sincerely!

FoB is a Full-Round action so you can only flurry if you don't move. So you have really two sets of attack values. The one you make as a Standard Action +3H and the full-round attack -1/-1. So both values are attempting to being shown to you.

This is the same as the FoB addon that not only tries to show both values but also allows you to activate FoB so other feats like Power Attack are also correctly calculated.

Same problem here. You only get the two attacks on a full-round action. So to show this equip one weapon as a main weapon and the other as the off-hand. HL will correctly calc your attack values for you.

But again you have two separate values based on the type of attack you are doing. Either getting multiple attacks on a full-round or single as a standard.

On the printed sheet when you have TWF feat all those different values for every weapon is printed out.

Thanks alot for the input I understand much better now.

With the TWF I had to equip two weapons of the same kind in my case and then choose main hand equip on one and off hand on the other then it showed the attacks on each of them as it should.

The flurry addon, is that the one earlier in this thread? I wasn't sure it it would still work since it looked like it was quite old and there had been many updates to the software after that.

Thanks again for your answers!

How do I get this to work with d20...?

How would I get this fix to work with the d20 system?

I get a series of errors when trying to use this fix.

Thanks
