How to add a custom special trait

I am trying to put in a monster that has a special trait not on the list. But I cant find any way to put in a custom special trait, just the pre-defined ones.
 
Under the "Personal" tab, at the bottom under "Permanent Adjustments", you can add a custom special ability. You need to search for it in the list.

My question is related: How can I edit the description text? It seems I can only edit the name.
 
You can do this quite easily using the Custom Race. Not sure the functionality exists for the pre-made creatures though.
