How hard would this be to set up?

I'm a fairly inexperienced herolab user for custom creation purposes. I want to make a variant mystic adept who can purchase astral projection as they can perception but can only be taken at magic priority A. Essentially magical power will go Aspected Magician -> Magician/Adept -> Mystic Adept. However I want to retain the normal mystic adept for normal games. So I'm wondering how hard would it be to set up a variant where in character creation I can click a Variant houserules option to toggle the variant adept or love it unchecked for the normal one like you can check or uncheck books to use. Help appreciated too.

From the tools menu, choose "Show Editor".

Then, in the General Grouping, find the Qualities tab, and use the "New (Copy)" button at the bottom left to make a copy of Mystic Adept. Give your copy a new name and a new Id, and then you can start investigating the settings in the body of the editor. Sounds like you'll want to change the minimum priority.

Then, you'd create a new adept power that requires this version of mystic adept and adds astral projection.

Thanks but it's making it a clickable rule I've no idea how to do but I know it can be done as others have done it for other things. Like I said want to be able to toggle back and forth if possible.

The next to last item on each editor tab is "Sources". Create a new source and assign it to these items. Then, that new source will appear in the list of settings, and you can turn it on or off.

Thank you so that's what resources does.

EDIT
Whoops just figured out what you actually meant, interesting.

EDIT 2
Hmmmm lots to work out here.

EDIT 3
Wish this program had a search feature oh well at least I know I need to find HeroQual.AstralPro to see how to set up astral projection.

On the Quality tab, make copies of the Mystic Adept and Magician qualities. Compare the "Capabilities Added" and "Realms Available" sections on those two qualities. The difference between astral projection and astral perception is in those two settings.

That's where I saw the HeroQual.AstralPro bit which is the quality that grants astral project, i'm trying to find that so I can see if it only adds "Astral projection" or does something else. I'm begining to think I'm overthinking this.

That HeroQual selection needs to be paired with a "Realms Available" selection in order to work.
