How do you find other players

I absolutely loved ERDRIX post about growing your own players, but it takes at least 8 years for them to read.

Besides having to wait for a couple of years or the risk of them eating your dice there is also the possibility of a low success rate. My son played for a couple of years but then moved far away, and my daughter was never interested in RPG.

But never give up! My grandsons are promising...

We posted on relevant gaming forums and on the bulletin board at our local game store.

As an aside, we use Doodle to schedule games for our Pathfinder group.

I use NeedToMeet, similar to Doodle.

The Twin Cities PFS folks use Meetup to schedule and assign tables.

My last campaign group uses a mailing list one of the members set up; the ones before that (going back to ~2000 or so) used CCed emails.
