House Rule: Don't Restrict Companion Race

I have a druid that has a raccoon as an animal companion. I found the house rule option "Don't Restrict Companion Race," which should allow me to select one as an animal companion. Even when it's checked, however, the list of available animals to choose from is the same as when it's un-checked. How do I get this option to work?

I believe that option is meant to work with classes that have a restricted animal companion list. I don't think there are any stats for a raccoon animal companion and you'd have to have it made in the editor.

ACs are meant to be big animals that you could ride or use in combat (ie wolves, dogs, tigers, bears). A familiar is a small animal meant to be carried around by a arcane caster on their shoulder and do small tasks (ie ravens, snakes, rats, cats, raccoons).

I know in Guardians of the Galaxy the raccoon is a crazy pissed off weapons expert but not in Pathfinder. :)
 
Since their abilities are similar enough, mechanics-wise, I'll probably just use a dire rat and call it a raccoon, ignoring the filth fever.
 
The biggest difference raccoons are tiny where dire rats are small. So it's going to be a large raccoon.
