Homebrew campaign how to's

I've been using Hero lab strictly for Pathfinder Society stuff and it works great but now I'm going to be doing my own campaign world.

So how do I remove all the official setting languages, deities etc. and substitute my own? Of course I also then need to distribute this new stuff to my players as well so an explanation of that would be helpful too. I know this is probably really basic and obvious to experienced users but I've spent quite a while looking and doing web searches and come up empty.

Thanks in advance.

I have been working with this myself for my custom campaign, so we can brain storm together.

In the HL hero config you can turn alot of stuff off, for example make sure you turn all PF campaign works, everything galoriann related and that turns a lot of it off. Make sure you turn off the extra races if you have the ARG.

Now this will leave you with the common races and deities, how I dealt with those is a great little feature. For example on the races tab in the editor on the right hand side you have a box labelled "Replaces Thing Id".

So lets say you make a custom race that replaces Elves, you look up the common Elf ID and enter it there, then when you load this .user file for your campaign, HL will hide the common elf in place show this new custom race of yours. You can do that for deities as well.

I have not found away in the configure hero to turn off common races and deities yet, but the replace thing ID box manages it for you.

Deities and languages can be hidden by the group or individual items. This post talks about the process for deities, but the languages work similarly.

So it appears the simplest way is to dig into the xml files and find the ID for the golarian languages and deities and then add that in a hidden directive in my own file.

You know this would be something helpful to have somewhere, maybe a blank start your own campaign file perhaps?
