HL Arcana Evolved

I want to get Hero Lab and need a short answer to following problem:

I want to put in the Data for Arcana Evolved (parts of the system run under SRD). This ist a d20 system with some changes: I think the amount of differences between d20 and AE are the same like d20 and pathfinder. Is it better to modify the d20 system or is it better to programm it from the buttom with the authoring kit. Maybe someone can answer my question?

ive played arcana evolved and wold have to say modifing d20 would be the vest route to go

You may also want to go into the "Which games should Hero Lab support" thread: http://forums.wolflair.com/showthread.php?t=9078 and cast a vote for the "d20 system mechanics" option - the goal of that addition would be to make adding things like AE easier.
