HeroLab Installation Issue

Member
As I already mentioned in a realm works thread I reinstalled Windows but this time made a clear Windows 10 installation (erased all previous data).

Now I can't even install Herolab properly ... it does not finish installation but instead an error message pops up: uninstaller has problems ... or sth ...

and needs to be shut down.

Whats goin on?

Have you tried downloading a fresh copy of Hero Lab?

Yup, after reinstalling all the necessary stuff and security measures I also downloaded all recent versions of roleplay related programs from their webpages ... including herolab.

Can't figure out, what the problem is!

Solved

Oddly enough after a couple of more downloads of the most recent version and replacing the file each time I downloaded it, the installation finally worked.

I have no clue what the problem was but I can tell you now it's solved.

Thx anyway for your help!

I'm having this same problem from a freshly reformatted computer, so there's nothing I can uninstall to really clear things up. I took a snip of what the error message is:

I'm getting that same thing on Windows 10, running as admin

Hi everyone,

Sorry to hear you're having problems with Hero Lab. The installer should log its actions automatically - in your temp folder, do you see a file named something like "Setup Log 2016-11-19 #001.txt"? If you open it up, it should mention "Hero Lab" in various folder names. Please email that file to me at colen@wolflair.com, and I'll see where the installer died.

Thanks, and sorry for the inconvenience!
