Hero Lab iPad Error

Our group has yet to get Hero Lab files working on the iPad app after trying for a few months. We believe it is due to custom items created in the desktop application, but aren't sure. When I try to load (on the iPad) the character sheet that my GM has created, I get the following error:

"The file could not be imported because: newer version of Hero Lab required! Make sure you're using the latest version of the product."

As far as we can tell, everything is up to date. I also get a ton of errors when trying to open the character sheet that look something like this:

"Pick (x) has been orphaned due to missing thing in batch (y) ..."
"Lookup of pick failed due to premature reference during load"

I haven't actually set up the files (our GM did) so unfortunately I can't give more information on how they were created without asking him specific questions and replying. He had asked about this issue on these forums a couple of months ago and received no reply so I think he has given up. However I would like to help him to get it working, and any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Does your GM have the latest version of HeroLab installed? The error message would indicate that he doesn't, or maybe he hasn't saved the portfolio file with the latest version.

What version number is it? You'll find that on the screen where you select which character to use, at the top right, just under "View Updates".

The ipad app version number is 5.1.2 (#10432)

I'll have to ask about the desktop version, but will reply with it once I know.

Thanks again to both of you.

It'll probably be best to report this as a bug. On the iPad, click Help on Using Hero Lab at the bottom, and then choose Report Bug.
