Help with adjust tab

Hi, pretty new to hero lab and i did do a search but didnt see anything, so sorry if this is a duplicate or common issue.

I have a goblin character made, and naturally the default language for him is goblin, but with the background i am using he was raised by elves from infancy. So i kinda felt like he had no interaction with any other goblins or their culture so he wouldnt know the goblin language. there is an option in the adjust tab for hide language. Which i have selected, chosen goblin as the language to hide, but it doesnt seem to do anything. I still get an error for too many starting languages, and when i view my character sheet goblin is still listed. What am i not doing or doing wrong?

Thanks.

As far as I am aware the languages received by each race are part of the race build. You could go into the editor and create a duplicate goblin race, replacing goblin with elven as a starting language.

I think you could temporarily make your character an NPC, select the cusomize language option on the Background tab, pick your language, and then change it back to a PC

switching to npc and and customizing the background language, then back to pc worked great. exactly what i was looking for. thanks
