Help. after installing the 4th edition update yesterday, (I don't own the data set for this crap by the way) all my license quit working. I'd like to do some characters this weekend.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Still down. Guess I'm the only one. It's just for my purchased secondary license, which is the one I use. Be nice when someone at least acknowledges that I'm here with a problem. Purchased this program, and would be nice to be able to use it. Wasted weekend for creating characters for a new game...thanks! Maybe I'll look for a free generation program, so I won't be so disappointed if it doesn't work.
 
Try going through the "reactivate license" wizard - once you complete it and restart Hero Lab, your license should be back in action. If that doesn't work, please contact support@wolflair.com as Lawful_g suggests, and they should be able to sort you out.

I've been through the "reactivate license" wizard several times, with no success. I also sent an email to the support address before I went to the forums. I'd rather solve this issue without going "public" but I'm upset because this worked fine till I installed the 4th edition update. I just want to get this resolved. I travel a lot for work, so I don't have my personal computer with me much of the time. I may seem impatient but it's not just to be an a-hole, I just don't have a lot of time to resolve these issues.
 
You state that the license wizard isn't working. Are you being given any error messages? If so, providing those errors would be incredibly helpful in figuring out what's going wrong.

Hopefully, you've already got stuff sorted out with Nancy's help for tech support. If not, you need to provide us with some details to diagnose what's wrong, else it's a lot like calling your doctor and saying "I don't feel good", then expecting him to tell you what's wrong.

And if you want the problem sorted out quickly, then there is no such thing as providing too much information. The more info you provide about what you're doing, what errors are appearing, and/or what incorrect behavior you are experiencing, the more likely it is that someone on this end can figure out the problem and get it solved on the first try - without having to ask you for more info.

Thanks Rob. Nancy took care of it. I did provide her with more info, I was just frustrated because I missed a whole weekend of developing stuff for a new game, that I had put aside for that purpose. By the way I was referring to 4th edition as crap, not Hero Lab.
