I have a gnoll ranger. I'm able to buy armor on the armor tab but the box on the left to equip it to your character is missing. so it will not add to my armor class.
 
I can't duplicate your error - Test one is probably to exit and re-start HL to make sure the problem wasn't temporary. Test two is to try creating a new character, and just add ranger, gnoll, and the armor. If this works it means you've isolated the problem to the character file itself (corrupted). If those don't work, Rob and Colen will probably have to pipe in on this thread.

It sounds like you're trying to add armor of the wrong size. Gnolls are
large (I think), so if you were adding medium armor, you wouldn't be
able to equip it. Creating a new character would have reset the armor
size to the size of your race (Large), so that would have fixed the error.


I just thought of a better way to indicate this, so I'll shove it into
the next version of HL.
