I KNEW your files would be complete. You are not the kind of person
to leave anything half done.

When I refered to Lend lease - I dont think it specifically states
it , except in the fluff and real histrory, But making a vast
majority of USA vehicles usable by the other allied nations.
DP9 was great when they designed this game. They made the game usable
in varius scales. from micro-armor to 1/48 scale. They did this by
putting all ranges and speed of movement in what they call: Movement
Units, (MU's).
DP9's models are scaled in 15mm a popular WWII scale.(They actually
asked their customers what scale they wanted ! And made that their
minuatures scale!)
For example 1 MU in 15mm= 2" (tactical scale). 1 MU in 15mm = 4"
(Skirmish scale).
So in the rule book everthing is written as MU's and then you convert
to the appropriate scale you are using- terrffic idea so you can use
your mini's. But kind of a pain also having to alwas convert the
MU's, this is where Army Builder would be great cause it could just
do all the conversions to the appropriate scale MU's.
If you like you could e-mail me the NON_DISTRIBUTION file, or not as
you like. I would like to see them, as you are correct all the
already done files have great examples.

Subject: Re: [AB] Gear Krieg AB Files
I believe that I have everything in the Companion implemented. I have
been
iterating with some of the writers at DP9 on the files, so they
should be
pretty complete. And hopefully pretty accurate.

I hope to get
final
"approval" from DP9 shortly on how everything is being handled. Once
that
happens, all the data entry can be finished and the files can be
released.
My guess is that it will be September or October when the files are
officially released.
One thing that I have done nothing about is your reference to MUs
versus
15mm support. Please clarify what you are referring to here. I also
am not
familiar with your reference to Lend Lease, so an explanation would
be helpful.
After reviewing the files you sent me, I have done things a bit
differently
from the approach you took. In a number of cases, I think that the
methods
I'm using require a bit less data entry (e.g. using "smap" instead of
"attr" everywhere and lots of inheritance). I can send you the
current
files I'm working on to take a look at if you'd like (but they are
NOT for
distribution). Perhaps some of the "shortcuts" I'm using will prove
useful
to you when working on data files for future game systems (which I
greatly
appreciate!).
One other option is if you are interested in taking over ownership of
the
GK files. As soon as DP9 gives their blessings to the overall
structure of
the files, they will need to be fleshed out and then further evolved
as new
supplements are released. Perhaps I can hook you up directly with DP9
and
you can get the supplement materials in advance to work on (instead
of me).
Let me know if this is of interest to you (via private email) and we
can
explore this further.
Thanks, Rob
