Frustration with updating and purchasing

I have a frustration that if I purchase a new product or update my product I am forced to wait 2 days before I can use it.

The reason is some <insert random profanity here> decided that any update or purchase requires me to request a "early license reassignment".

Common sense and courtesy would inform said developer that when a update or purchase is made, there should be a automatic early reassignment (for the licenses already assigned to a machine) so that customers can use their product immediately without having to wait.

The very concept of "early reassignment" is counter-intuitive to a company that sells supplements and provides free updates. It makes the customer not want to update or purchase supplements on the fly.

Please fix this issue, it the solution is included in this post at no charge (from a very successful developer).

Also should note that it does more damage to your system since it provides incentive to others to "break" your anti-piracy measures just to use their product. As a developer you do not want to give incentive for others to hack your system just to use what they bought.

Thank you.

Hey there! How many computers are you using Hero Lab on? If more than one, can you verify that you have different license codes on each computer? To verify, open the license menu in Hero Lab and click "View License Info". Each computer should have a different license code.

If you are using two computers and they have the same license code, you will need to activate your secondary license code on one and that should fix the problems you outlined above. If you are only using Hero Lab on one machine or you have verified that your multiple computers are using different license codes, let me know and we can go from there.

I have two computers, my primary desktop which I use to create and modify characters and my laptop which I use at games.

I have both a primary and secondary account, every time I buy something, upgrade or in any way connect to the Lone Wolf server it seems I need to re-assign my keys.

In just about every single case the issue you describe is caused by a person using the "exact" same key on both computers. You get two "unique" keys and each computer must have their own.

You have the same key on both computers. So what happens is you set the license to computer A and it works fine. Then you load the same license on computer B which HL lets you as it "reassigns" your key to Computer B. Then later you buy something and you attempt to license the new stuff on Computer A and "boom" HL says you can't reassign the key as it was before the 120 day.

To sum up its the way you have loaded the key. I have multiple licenses and I have purchased new packages. I never get the issue you describe nor does anyone in my group.

To see your licenses go to "License->Send My Licenses to me". That should help clear things up.

I will agree with the original poster with this issue. I have a primary (Desktop Unit) and a Secondary (Laptop) AND have verified that they each have their own key. And this is the second time I have installed an update on my Desktop unit and had to wait for an "Early License Reassignment"

It is very frustrating and annoying!

So, my earlier post was incorrect in that my Secondary license is on my Desktop and my Primary is on my Laptop.

My Secondary seems to be the one I am having all of the problems with.

I just updated my Primary on my laptop with ABSOLUTELY no problems whatsoever.

Perhaps it might be helpful to know that I built a new Desktop Unit in April or May. I reinstalled Herolab on it and had to wait for an "Early License Reassignment (ELR)". I am not sure why that was the case as I seem to recall it being quite a while since I had had to reinstall HeroLab on my system. The last time I had to was when I went from Windows XP to Windows 7. Anyways, I received the reassignment. Shortly there after there was an update and I downloaded it. Once it was updated, I was told that I had to request another "ELR".

Now Lone Wolf has updated HeroLab to 4.2b and I have updated my Secondary again! And AGAIN, I have had to request an "Early License Reassignment"!

I don't mean to be rude, but this really is messed up. Prior to reinstalling HeroLab on my NEW Desktop Computer, there were no problems. I spent several years updating and not having to request an "ELR". Now it appears that every time I update main HeroLab files, I have to request an "ELR".

The idea that I am being told my licenses are the problem is, for me, ludicrous.

There is another reason for this that has nothing to do with MY licenses.

My advice is to email LW Support department. Nothing anyone here on the forums can do to help. I do recall "one" case where the issue was not a license issue and its possible that is the case here. Otherwise the most common reason is the same license on two different computers. So if you see that being the issue 99% of the time it will of course be the first thing some says to you.

Email LW support at support@wolflair.com and provide "lots" of details of information in the original email. Also provide the information about the licenses being different up front. Doing that will help you get faster and more accurate response.

Hey Oracle, just a quick questions, are you renewing the license with each update? All you should need to do is reverify, not renew.

Thank you.

When you purchase your new licenses on Computer A, you should be able to simply reactivate your license on Computer B to acquire the unlock for that system.

Oracle68, I saw your license reassignment request that you put in yesterday and have responded. Hopefully I can help you further through our support system.
