Free Skill Ranks

I am going to be starting in a game where the GM is allowing free skill ranks (at least one rank) in certain skills.

Everyone gets five free Knowledge Skills with one rank in each, and one free rank in Ride.
How can I model this in HL?
 
The simplest would probably be to use the Adjust tab and add Skill ranks with a permantent adjustment (probably Skill Points, Total in this case). There is also a Class Skill adjustment if you need that.
