Force small character, but does not allow small gear

Creating an aasimar, added a -1 permanent size adjustment, but cannot use small weapons. Is this a bug or something I am missing?

I just tried this and it is working fine for me.

Can you be more specific maybe about which class, what weapon, etc you are trying to use. Also did you alter the add new weapon of size option to small? Cause this should be kept medium if your character is small. Medium is more an indication that it meets your characters standard.

Gnome fighter: weapons, armor, gear default to SMALL. Dagger: 1d3, 0.5 lbs. Leather: 7.5 lbs. MW Backpack: 1 lbs. Total carried: 9 lbs.

Aasimar fighter with permanent -1 Size Category adjustment: weapons, armor, gear default to MEDIUM. Dagger: 1d3, 0.5 lbs, Leather: 7.5 lbs. MW Backpack: 4lbs. Total carried: 12 lbs.

So, there is a problem with "gear". Also, the weapon size is confusing. If I am small, then I need small-sized weapons (or armor), just like when I pick a Gnome. Yet if I am not officially small but just adjusted, then small is relative to my adjusted size. I need medium weapons, and if I select small, I really get tiny weapons marked as small which I can't use.

Well in this case I would say make a bug report towards them with all these details. To get this fixed. And I agree it is a bit confusing as it is now. I didn't realize it myself the first time I was messing about with it and hope it will be fixed soon.

And I kinda agree with your last statement that for small characters you should select small for weapons and armor in all honesty. Cause this gives a lot of confusion and you can get gear that isnt current scale (by having fine equipment while being small for example). Which isn't entirely intended I think.

The size category adjustment from the adjustment tab is effectively Reduce Person, so it includes all the gear size changing rules from that spell. So if you add a size M weapon to that character, the adjustment will turn it into a size S weapon.

To create a proper "Aasimar Halfling" sort of race, I recommend using the editor.
