Flames of War data files very dissapointing

Hi,

I just purchased Armybuilder and loaded in the version 3, v1.18 (from this site).

Going through the options available, the only one for British Guards is a 'Guards Armored Squadron'. The list is not complete though because it does not include;
- Guards Armored Recce Squadron
- Guards Rifle Company
- 2nd Household Calvary Squadron

I may be missing something fundamental in the software, but from what I can see, a large part of the Flames of War book Hell's Highway is missing.

Who can fix this and how quickly? I only bought this software to use the new Hell's Highway book because my force is built around it!! Very disappointing I feel like I wasted my money...

Try the FoW-specific data file forum here and/or contact that actual author of the files, which should be listed there too...

If you scan back about a week in this very forum, you'll see another thread about this issue. As I explained there, we're actively working with Battlefront to get the FoW data files up-to-date and then keep them that way.

To be honest, I have the same gripe.

Maybe you need to warn prospective purchasers of Army Builder, that Flames of War is not 100% supported at this time.

Had I have known this, I would not have purchased AB.

I think a full refund or perhaps a free licence extension is the right thing to offer us FoW users, but too late once purchased I guess.

I've already spoken to TommyGunn personally, but since I see this was posted here as well, I'll repeat what I told him here as well.

Hell's Highway is completely implemented and has been since 2 weeks after its release.

The lists specifically mentioned here are found as follows
- Guards Armored Recce Squadron as British Armoured Recce Squadron
- Guards Rifle Company as British Rifle Company
- 2nd Household Calvary Squadron as British Armoured Car Squadron.

We are hard at work to get the files completed in one version. There is very little that is not covered in either the current version or the prior versions. You will also find that I respond very quickly to emails sent to me through the contact data file author button on the help menu.

When someone buys AB, we have no idea what game system they are going to be using, so that makes sure a warning rather difficult. :-(

That's one of the key reasons why we make the demo version available. Anyone is free to fully assess whether AB does what they need and has suitable data files available for what they're seeking.

Please note that Lone Wolf develops the core Army Builder product and not the data files. In the case of FoW, we're working with Battlefront to facilitate getting the data files back up to date. Battlefront is actually the one owning this process, as the data files are for their game. We're going to be doing what we can to help out with the process, as we realize that both companies benefit when quality data files are available for FoW.

It should also be noted that I saw a great many posts regarding AB and Flames of War on Battlefront's own forums under the Army Lists sub-forum. You just need to register to get into the forums.

I'm currently working on the Italians from North Africa which I should finish in about 2 weeks or so. After that I'm headed to Eastern Front and will be working on it from cover to cover. If memory serves, the Romanians are the third country in.
