Fixing an error statement

So I purhcased all the data files but I had the old fan made books of the same name, now im getting errors that the old books dont exsist how do I stop getting these error messages?

Are you getting errors when loading up HL or when loading a character in HL? If when loading a character then simply make any change to the character, put a space in the name, and save the profile again.

If when loading HL you will need to remove the old .user files as I assume your getting duplicate thing errors.

If none of the above helps then your going to have to get more specific with exactly what the errors are....

So I have to change the name of the file or the character and do I have to make a change or can i just save it so I dont get the error (yeah the errors are in old characters i made)
And thanks shadow they are your books im getting the error from

No need to change the name of the file. What I got across badly was that you just need to make any small change to the character in HL to let HL know that it was changed so that when you press ctrl-S to save it that it saves.

So if you just increase a skill by one rank and put it back that will be enough to cause HL to actually save the character.

So mostly what your getting then is that the OLD community Sources are no longer their. So if they are gone then you will need to add any of the feats, traits, or equipment back to your character again don't forget. So that you are using the official versions of them.
