Feature request: Wish-emulated spells

It would be really nice (mostly for spontaneous casters) to be able to set up a list of spells your character can emulate via Wish or Limited Wish (and for that matter, Shadow Conjuration and Evocation, and the Greater versions of those).

It would probably not be that difficult (for someone who knows the tools inside-out) to set this up like the favored metamagic spells table, where you could pick Wish or Shadow Conjuration or whichever meta-spell you know as your "metamagic feat" first, and then you'd get the list of valid spells that it could emulate, and the spell description would automatically get copied over into the text of the "metamagic" version. That way you'd have an all-in-one stat block to show the DM when you decide it's time to pull out the Limited Wish Cloudkill, or the Greater Shadow Evocation Chain Lightning, or whatever - all the DCs, duration, etc already calculated.

I may still attempt to figure this out myself, but I think this would be a really great feature.

Don't those spells let you decide what spell they emulate when you cast them? In that case, having the user set up the spell before-hand is both misleading and kind of defeats the purpose.

Yes, they do. However, the same argument could be made against having a list of "favorite metamagic spells". It's not so much a list of "this is what you CAN cast", more of a "this is something I probably WILL cast today or soon".

That said, I can definitely see your point of view for some players.

Regardless, I still want this capability for my characters (PC and NPC). Is adding emulated spells (ideally just the same way as metamagic ones, although I'm open to other methods) something I could do with just the basic editor, or would I need the authoring tools to pull it off?

Unfortunately, users can't change anything in the core panels, like adding a table as you suggest.
