feature request: copy segment

This one is for authors. An option to copy an entire segment from a topic, merging all text snippets into a single block. Auto formatting would need to include a parenthetical note immediately following non-true snippets. I'm not near my computers so I can't see if any other snippet types should be included.

This would allow modules to be written in RealmWorks, and then more easily converted into a print or PDF version.

I'm not sure which would be more useful - if we could find some authors to weigh in that would be helpful. My theory is that each segment represents part of a paragraph which would need additional work, and so excluding the rest of the data would help prevent errors. I suppose both export options would provide more flexibility to better match the user's work style.

I am not sure that would work as well as you would like. I am finding in going the other way (taking published modules and re-working them into RealmWorks) that I need to re-word the broken-up text sometimes. Wording that flows well in a single written paragraph does not always work well if the paragraph is cut up into separate snippets, and needs to be re-worded into complete thoughts. I suspect that the reverse is true; individual snippets probably require wording that does not flow well if auto-merged into one paragraph.

That's why I was thinking bring in only one segment at a time -once it's resolved, grab the next segment and continue.

We've talked with a number of publishers and there are some complicated wrinkles in what you're asking for. Based on all those conversations with publishers, we have a different approach mapped out that should yield pretty good results. However, it's not something we'll begin working on until after V1.0 comes out. So please stay tuned for more information about how we plan on solving this.
