Fanatical minions bug

Woodclaw

Well-known member
I just stumbled upon an apparent bug, when I tried to build a character with several fanatical minions the cost of both the minions and the progression was doubled. As far as I know only the base cost of the minion should be doubled, not the progression.

From the M&M core rulebook, p63:

If you double the cost of this feat (2 points per rank) your minions are fanatical ... Rather than increasing the power points available to create your minion, a rank in this feat can move your total number of minions of the same type

So you're buying an extra rank to add another minion, which is double cost because Fanatical doubles the cost of the whole feat. Does that make sense?

Sorry, I based my notion on the fact that Sidekick is minion with the Fanatical and Heroic extras applyed to it, but still you pay only 1pp for each rank of Progression applyed. Anyway I'll take a look a at the Green Ronin forum to see how it works.

Colen, i was able to get an answer from Steve kenson on this matter.

My intent was that the Progression cost remain the same for Fanatical minions: 1 point per Progression rank.

So, my interpretation is right and the feat was simply written in an obscure way on the book.
