Error - Keeps shutting Down

Just wondered if anyone else has this problem.

I am using the World of Darkness element of the program. Whenever I attempt to advance one of the characters there is a very high probability the program simply comes up with an error message and then shuts down. The message only says that Hero Labs has encountered an error and needs to shut down.

To be clear about when this happens, I click the Advancement Tab, then the Advance Character button, I select for example "Enhance Discipline" and the Menu appears. When I select the drop down list the message appears and the program closes once you click Ok.

This is deeply frustrating. I thought it might be a corrupted portfolionat first, but this happens with all my portfolios.

Any assistance would be most appreciated.

There was a problem like this earlier in the year, but it was fixed. Are you using an old copy of Hero Lab? Please verify that you are using the latest release (V2.1b) and try again. If the problem persists, please let us know, but everything should be working fine the most recent few releases.

I can't seem to reproduce this behavior on my end. I've tried on a
couple of computers. Unfortunately, I'm at Origins right now and am in
the booth virtually all day, every day. So I'm not able to research
this by delving into the source code right now.

Can anyone else reproduce this problem?

Since I can't seem to recreate the problem, my guess is that you are
doing something special with the character that I'm not. Please save
the character to a portfolio PRIOR to advancement and send it to me at
rob @ wolflair.com. Include in the email the advancement steps you are
trying to accomplish. This will hopefully enable me to recreate the
problem on this end, at which point I can figure out what is causing
the problem and get it fixed.

I've found Hero Lab to crash when hovering the mouse over the virtue and vice icons in the Identity tab. It happens on three separate PCs.

sidebar: I haven't installed the most recent version. I'm doing that now, but last time I tried I got an error on it. I'll try again.

Yep, it does on mine too. I didn't even enter any character information - no stats, no name, nothing. I just went to the Identity tab and hovered over the "?" icon next to Virtue and CRASH.

Tried it again after re-opening the program, choosing a Virtue and Vice, then hovered over the Vice "?" and CRASH.

Oh - and I am using v2.1b...

This bug and a couple of others have now been located and fixed on our end. Barring any further surprises, a V2.1c release with the various fixes should be out in the next few hours.

I've only just gotten back to this as I've been very busy.

This appears to have resolved my problem.

I'm very grateful for the level of assistance. Much appreciated
