Error after updating HeroLab

Hi all,

I'm getting this error:

Hero Lab was forced to stop compilatation after the following errors were detected:
Syntax error in 'eval' script for Thing 'skAthletic' (eval script #1) on line 11 -> Tag 'Classes.Inquisitor' not defined

And again on line 9.

I haven't messed with anything in the Inquisitor class so I'm just wondering why I'm getting this error?

do you have the forgotten realms files?
if you search the forums you will find its a known issue and how to solve it...or update to the new files from tobyfox

I don't have Forgotten Realms files -- it's just Pathfinder. I saw TobyFox's thread, but, that seems to be D&D based only.

ah, yours is happening on a skAthletic and the forgotten realms one seems to be on fFRSoutMag.

what .user files to you have? it looks like somewhere in one of them the same mistake was made for the 'Classes.Inquisitor'. if its same thing if you can find that entry and delete the "r" from Inquisitor it should fix it

How to I find the Class.Inquisitor.user file? I don't see any of the classes. I tried doing a "Copy" in the editor to see if it had any eval scripts but it didn't.

if you go to Tools - Manage Third Party Updates you can see what third party filesets there are which will help narrow it down. the problem isn't on the inquisitor class itself but something else that is referencing the class, something to do with 'skAthletic'

No third party updates are registered for this game it says. I think this is just a HeroLab issue. Not sure, though. :\

hmmm....doesn't seem like it would be or everyone would have had the issue. do you have any .user files that aren't from LoneWolf?

Just the .user files that I created from the editor. Should I delete them and retry to make a new one?

and if you wanted to make a quick check if it was those files or not you wouldn't have to delete them. just move them out of that folder and try launching herolab again

try moving the .user files you have out of the folder they are in and relaunch herolab and see if you get same error (or something different)

Did and yep, I'm still getting the Athletic error. And because I don't have my custom items in my character sheet now (they disappeared with the update), I can't find them. This makes me cry as I have my game today, lol.

i'm at a loss. guess you will have to wait for someone more knowledgable to hop on the boards.

since your user files weren't the problem you can put them back in the folder

This issue is coming from one of your custom .user files. You mis-named the tag Classes.Inquisito tag with Classes.Inquisitor. No way Classes.Inquisitor can be correct as its 11 characters. :(

You best bet would be to use a Text Search tool (Notepad++ or TextPad) to find this invalid tag and which file it is in. Once you find that you can open the file using a text editor or the HL editor and rename it to the correct 10 characters.

Sorry but this is not an issue in HL itself.... :(

Found the cause of it. One of the players in the game also encountered the problem and he diagnosed it right away (assuming this has happened to him before). The GM added in custom modular rules which borked everything.

Thanks guys for the help. Sorry for all the questions. -.-
