M&M 3rd ed. Equipment Points in Red

Are you referring to a warning, or the equipment points in red? Im asking because when I upped the PL (http://forums.wolflair.com/showpost....06&postcount=9) i stopped seeing the warning, but did see the EP in red. And if its a PL thing, id like to know what it is. But as far as I know, (and ive reread the books) EP is not controlled by PL, just individual ranks are.

I never got the warning. Just the EP in red. When I checked the Gamemasters guide unlimited power level, the red EP went away and it was clear. That's why I said I thought it has something to do with the power level.

Very weird. I wonder what the logic is. I dont see anything in the books that implies equipment has a max EP per power level, or even a suggested.

Not sure, But that's what it seems to be doing. The weird thing about it was I took the points spent on the vehicle down to 150 and the red warning went normal, then I added 1 point to make it 151 and it went red again. It's like its only allowing 150 points to be spent on vehicles.

All I found is this on vehicles

Vehicles and Power Level

On their own, the unmodified vehicle templates by size
category given in Chapter 7 of the Hero’s Handbook are
all power level 3, based on their Defense and Toughness
ranks, with room for a +1 modification of either without
changing power level. This allows vehicles to fit easily into
virtually any series.
Vehicles generally have the same power level limits as characters,
although in some series, the Gamemaster may wish
to institute separate power level limits for characters and
vehicles.
This is most appropriate for settings where vehicles
are common and characters are primarily intended to
be their lower-level pilots. See Gadget Guide: Mecha for
more on this.
Not sure if this has any thing to do with it, but it still should have more points and level then it's giving.

LOL - I just switched the character to an NPC and the red went away, so it has to be with the power level. For some reason no matter what it is only allowing you to have 150 points in a vehicle if you are a player character but if your building an NPC and tag as such you can go over the 150 limit.

<shrug> I wonder why I don't see it. I had no mods at all when I tried, and I don't use the unlimited PL. </shrug> I am using Windows, and maybe others are not?

Not sure why SeelyOne, but I use windows also. Maybe it's the version of windows your using. I'm on vista. I know, why the hell am I still using Vista. LOL

Interesting about vehicles. But that makes sense for power level limits, but not really EP limits.

In other words I shouldn't be able to put more than xx ranks in any power, but it doesn't say anything about number of powers. In fact characters don't have max number of pp they can have total based on power level, just max per power.

You should also refer to this thread in the bug report. Some people see it, some don't. Just in case they do not see it. :P Kind of like when you take a car to a mechanic and the problem stops, but then starts again after they were unable to find something.

As a related question. How does one make vehicles in Hero Lab. I've been trying to find a way to do that and have been unable to figure it out.
