M&M 3rd ed. Equipment Points in Red

I was creating a Vehicle, and using a lot of equipment points (over 300). I have the PP to spend on them. As far as I can tell there is no rule of max PP per advantage by PL.

I didn't see any validation errors, but i noticed that my EP Spent (when looking at the equipment) is in the Red. Again no validation errors.

Whats the reason for this. Am I missing something?

Weird that it should redden the points at the top, but it looks like your Laser Array exceeds PL by 1? It does show up in Validation.

Your hero also exceeds PL by 3 in Expertise and Technology and I got a series of orphaned items, which suggests that you might be running with custom rules.
 
no custom rules... do you have all the datasets?

Even when i up the PL of the character (A LOT, to a PL 45, just as a test... lol) the things stay in red.
 
Mirtos, can you share a screen shot? I tried it and had the same results as reported by Duggan. It should be noted that I do not have the gadgets data set yet, but I plan to get it next week.
 
ill do that later, when i get home. ill up the PL of the character so you can see it.

ill reup the portfolio so you can do that.

FWIW, im using the mac version.
 
Ok, upped the PL to 15 (which my original portfolio was, but the copy i made wasn't)

no longer have any validation errors, but the EP are still in red.

Weird. I just got the Gadget Guide set and tried your file. I got 166 PP out of 180 and no error other than the mentioned two cases of "exceeds PL by 3". I am using Windows 7, so perhaps it is as you suggested: "a Mac bug".
 
Alright. I see the red EP. I get an error message on loading which I have attached. I also see the same Validation messages as before.

FWIW, I've seen similar red text when I created a character with Unlimited PP via the character option.

I dont see the error that you posted, but i since deleted the portfolio, though i could easily download it from my post and try it again.

Did you try the second one? That one had no validation errors, and i never saw the popup you did.

I have no custom things for M&M, so i cannot imagine what's causing it for you.
 
OK, I tried that one you just relinked to. It seems to work fine. All I saw is it had 67 or some-odd points left to spend. I also never saw the error that Duggan mentioned.
 
But did you see the equipment points in red? (if you look at the liberator) Since Duggan mentioned they are there im wondering what they refer to. Is there a maximum amount of EP you are allowed to use on an item?

This isn't for a PC, so it doesnt REALLY matter, but im curious.
 
I just went in to the configure hero window and checked the Gamemasters Guide unlimited power level. I then went and checked The Liberator. The red warning was gone. So I would say the power level is limiting you in some fashion.
