Encounter Builder and Custom Races/Creatures

GodPole

Well-known member
Greetings all,

I am trying to understand exactly how the Encounter Builder is accessing the creatures you can select.
I have created a custom race that will be included in an Encounter along with some other creatures.
I would like to add them all in the Encounter Builder to see exactly what the EL of the encounter would be before I choose whether to add it to my game or not as is.
For some reason, the custom Race I created does not show up on the list of "Available Characters" to choose from.
I have a feeling it has something to do with the fact that I have defined the Race Type as "NPC Race". Do I need to set it to something else to get the EB to allow me to select it?

Thanks.

In Hero Lab, choose "Tools...Explore Folders...Game System Data Folder" - note where that file location is, and save the character you've created with this custom race there, instead of the default save folder for characters. Then, it will show up as an option in the encounter builder.
