Does the Encounter Builder not include custom creatures?

Or is there something you need to do when adding them?

I just put the Sectoids in as creatures for my XCOM game, and they're not showing up on the Encounter Builder.

Far as that goes, how do you access them at all? They don't seem to be stored as portfolios.

From the Character COnfiguration Screen you have a drop down box for "Type: Player Character", "Type: NPC (Unlimite)", and *ta da* "Type: Creature".

So you can pull them in and save them as portfolios at least? That's good.

I gather that's pretty much what you need to do to make it work? It seems oddly backwards that you need to do that just to use them as enemies, since you've already entered them as code.

If your question is "how do I make a portfolio I've created available to the encounter builder?";

In the tools menu, choose Explore Folders, and then Game System Data Folder. Note where that folder location is. Any saved portfolios you put there (rather than in the default save directory) will be added to the encounter builder.

I don't really use the encounter builder myself, mind you, but I did build portfolios for each of the encounters in Deadlands Noir so it just seemed natural to create a portfolio (since a portfolio can include multiple characters/creatures) to pull into the encounter builder. The advantage, I think, of using portfolios that way is you could just pull i na stock creature but you can also modify it right there, if needed, and pull in appropriate minions and so on. So in a way I tend to think of portfolios as a staging area for the encounter builder.

Thanks for both of your answers, gentlemen. I don't promise I won't have more, but then, Zarlor at least will be used to that by now. :)
