Does my player need Bestiary?

Hi guys.

Brand new Hero Lab owner here.
One of my players wants to make Clockwork creatures for summoning. These are in Bestiary 2. Would he need to buy the set to get access to them even though he's a player?

If he wants to add a clockwork creature to his portfolio, he would either need the bestiary or he (or someone) would need to create the clockwork creature in the editor.

UI believe there is a summoner's package (or something like that) that has a selection of summonable critters, designed for players who summon and don't need the entire bestiary - not sure if clockwork types are in there though.

How hard would it be to create creatures in the editor?

If you're asking that question, that means you're not familiar with the editor. If you've worked with it before, creating a basic creature is not that difficult. The more abilities you want to add, the more complex it can get. If you're not used to the editor, that will obviously make things more difficult.

Another alternative might be if they have the advanced race guide, there's a feature that allows you to build a race without having to use the editor.

He does have ACG.
And yeah, my experience with Hero Lab is literally having built one character and that's it.

Still trying to figure out how to load other people's custom character sheets.

Thanks. I'm enjoying it so far.
I was pretty happy using YAPCG before, and the learning curve for Hero Lab seems to be a bit steep, but constant updates and the possibilities of Hero Lab Online have me very excited.
