Does Anyone Recognize These Errors?

Hendel

Well-known member
I sent an email to LWD (and received an amazingly fast reply!!) regarding these error messages that have started to pop up everytime I load Pathfinder in HeroLab. Mathias said that they were errors with user added content so I thought I would go to the users and see if anyone recognizes these errors and can help me get rid of them. It keeps opening in safe mode and has disabled ALL of my user content.

Please help!
Thanks!

The only non-LWD user sources I have enabled are:

cheeseweasel.net
shadowsoftware.net

The error says:

The data files could not be loaded due to errors. Hero Lab will now attempt to load them in recovery mode. Once loaded, you can access the editor as normal to correct any errors.

The following errors occurred:

Thing 'raCTIdolAr' - Bootstrap thing 'xxImmDismi' does not exist
Thing 'rauMCMirFn' - Bootstrap thing 'xxImmGaze' does not exist
Thing 'rauNggFace' - Bootstrap thing 'xxImmGaze' does not exist
Thing 'ruBhole' - Bootstrap thing 'xxImmContr' does not exist
Thing 'ruMuteHag' - Bootstrap thing 'xxImmGaze' does not exist
Thing 'tmABPlaBea' - Bootstrap thing 'xxImmMaDis' does not exist

I think raCTIdolAR might be from Council of thieves, I'm guessing as I did those data files. I also believe raPlaBea is from the Plague Bearer to.

Maybe this can help you identify the offending items!

The "xx" things is what the "Community Bestiary" uses for its "Universal Monster Abilities" things.

The above things it says "does not exist" are located in a file called "PFRPG_Bestiary_UniversialAbilities.user". Do you have this file? Go to "Tools->Explore Folders->Game System Data Folder". In the window that comes up see if you can see the file "PFRPG_Bestiary_UniversialAbilities.user".

The next easiest fix maybe to download the CB again and have it reinstall. I don't see why those universal monster abilities file would suddenly be gone.

You get no other error before this one?

Worked great!! Thanks for the help!!

Player Pack installed after Community Bestiary? You should install one or the other, the CB is supposed to contain everything in the PP, I think

Also get these errors and I do have the PFRPG_Bestiary_UniversialAbilities.user file. It doesn't seem to occur after you download it the first time but after you load Hero Lab again it gives all those nice errors.

If you right click on the error message you can copy it and paste it here. That will help.

My next question is have you tried Re-installing the Community Bestiary as I had this happen with someone else and it was an install issue.

You do have all the required Official Packages for the CB? The most common other issue is the missing of one of the required packages. The latest packages list is: Advanced Players Guide, Bestiary 1, Bestiary 2, Bestiary 3, Ultimate Combat, and Ultimate Magic

I am just going with the most common issues I have seen first. Then we can start digging deeper if we need to. :)

Yes I do, I have every Pathfinder package offered by Lone Wolf. Also only have one secondary source which is the d20srd. I do not have any other game system purchased for Hero Lab.

Did installing the CB again work?

Yes and no. I re-downloaded the CB and those errors did not occur however new ones did!

When loading a CB critter I get this:

Errors were encountered when loading the saved portfolio! A record of these errors can be found in the file "C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Temp\hero_lab_load_issues.log". If you notice incorrect behaviors in your portfolio, please report it to the data file authors (you can contact them from the Help menu).

One or more required sources are not accessible for hero "Pudding, Brown'. Subsequent errors may be the result fo this problem.
Pick 'rFGBrowPud' has been orphaned due to missing thing in batch '506'
Chained pick 'wConstrict' has been orphaned due to missing bootstrap in batch '506'
Chained pick 'wSlam' has been orphaned due to missing bootstrap in batch '506'

So any ideas why the D20SRD sources just don't want to work for me? I already had to cancel my Friday game session because of this errors.

Well based on the unique ID your trying to open Frog God Games Tome of Horror monsters and not the ones from the CB. CB is listed under "Tome of Horrors" not the ones named with FGG at the start.

So in this case its the fact your opening up stock files that you don't own a license for. Use the free "Tome of Horror" stock files located further down the list. Should work much better for you.

Sorry to hear you canceled your game.
