If you take the time to write data files for a game system, we'll be happy
to issue you a free license for the product. However, if we gave everyone
who volunteered to write files a free license BEFORE they wrote the files,
we'd have a lot of unscrupulous users pretending just to get a free
license. So it's a bit of a chicken and egg situation. :-(
If you are serious about writing data files, take a look at the Authoring
Kit (available on the website) and then contact me directly about it at
rob@wolflair.com. We can figure something out.
Some of the other perks that authors get:
1. Authors are invited to join the Beta team, which gives access to all the
pre-release stuff.
2. Authors get free product updates for as long as they wish (instead of
the one year that comes with a purchased license).
3. Authors can get additional licenses for multiple computers if they wish.
4. And, last but not least, we're working on perks for authors through many
of the game publishers, so we hope to have some additional rewards in place
for authors in the near future.
