Alright, at the moment, the cost of an option is attached to the option
itself and you can assign it a separate cost (using xcst) for specific
units, races, modes, etc.
What I would very much like to see is the ability to enter a cost in the
Option Link when creating a unit. For example, I could have an option for
shields which costs 1 point basic, but certain units might have to pay 2
or 3 for it and I'd like to be able to just add the shield option to the
unit by adding the link, entering 'shield' as the Option ID, select the
Link Nature 'Cost', and enter a cost in a 3rd box.
I realize I could just create an xcst attribute to do the same thing, but
when you're dealing with hundreds of different units across dozens of
separate datafiles it can get really cumbersome (ie, 'here's a long list
of units which should be charged 2 points, here's another long list of
units which should be charged 3 points...' etc). The only other option is
to create a separate option for each possible cost (and you can look at
cr.wf6 in the Warhammer 6th edition datafiles to find out how gross that
looks).
Anyway, I don't want the cost to be required to be defined in the option
link, if it's not the cost would default the option's cost or to the xcst
attribute if applicable, but if it is then it would override the basic
option cost.
Would anyone else like to see this functionality?
Mark

I'm trying to hide items based on a unit's stats.
Something like a mace can only be given to a unit with a strength of 8
or more, or an armor type is available to a unit with a combined
strength and constitution of 18 or more...
Tried searching the group and couldn't find anything and I've been
staring at the ABCreator screen for too long...
Thanks a Bunch!

This might work:
Create an option with the following attributes:
hide
glob:incl
uexp:st>=8
type:st8
Then add this line to your item's attributes:
itst:type=st8
The option should give the type:st8 to all units with the strength stat (I
used st as the abbreviation here, change it if yours is different) of 8 or
greater. Then the Item requires the unit to have that type before it will
become available to them.
