Subject: Re: New Battlefleet Gothic Files?
I am using the construction kit to modify the Necron datafile to be
inline with the BFG 2002 Annual. So far I have two problems left.
1. I have fixed the Scythes to be 0-6, and the Cairns are set at 1
per 2 Scythes, but I wanted to make it so that if you had two
scythes, you could only equip 1. It spits out a violation warning,
but it seems it'd be better to stop the user from adding more. This
is minor as it does put out the violation warning.
2. I am trying to find a way to limit dirges and jackals. These are
0-12 in the fleet. The problem arrises when squadroning mixed types
together it cannot count the total. For example, if I have two
squadrons of 6 dirges, and then add a dirge to a jackal squadron, I
do not get a violation. Is there some way to validate a total count
of different units types? For example, the max of dirges and dirge
addons is 12? This is a moderate problem as it will not spit out a
violation warning. Better would be to stop letting them from being
added. I would rate this as a higher problem, but I am guessing most
people do not mix their squadron types too much.
Things I have tweaked:
Scythes are 0-6, not 0-4
Dirge Movement is 50cm, not 40 cm. (probably a copy error from a
jackal)
When adding dirges, you are forced to have a squadron of at least 2,
I changed this to 1-5, from 2-6. As I write this, I realize that
there should be no limit, except the 12 for the fleet. Doh! I'll
have to verify I actually fixed that!
There may be other errors, but these are the ones I have been
addressing.

If the Scythes and Cairns are two independent units, then you cannot impose
a 'hard' limit on them. The only way to do this would be to have the Cairns
as a child unit of the Scythes. You could then use the 'ratp' attribute to
enforce a maximum of 1 child model (Cairn) per two parent models (Scythes).

Try adding the 'forc' unit local attribute to the Dirge and Jackal. This
should force them to be counted in validation rules, even if they're child
units.

Using the 'forc' attribute above should fix this. Let me know if it doesn't.

Is there an AB file for Warhammer 40K 3rd Ed which includes all
the rules for the new Chaos codex? Specifically I am looking for one
with the Iron Warriors rules, including the extra heavy support
option and the Defiler rules. I have seen files with each of these
but not one with both.
Thanx in advance.
