Subject: Army builder and copyrights....
I want to give a go at creating a data file for Army Builder. I was thinking
of using the OGRE minis, because it is fairly straight forward, not to many
units/variables, one race etc, .
Recently there was, and may still be some discussion about "the future of
AB". It came up a couple of times that AB is not the actual game/rules and
they can't (or may not) pursue it legally.
I have been looking over the leagal stuff concerning writing for SJ Games.
Should I follow all of the legal stuff before writitng this data file?
Follow it anyway as a CYA...
They aren't asking for first born or anything.
Any suggestions, comments?
Robert

Hey, I know that some of you have had success getting AB to work. I'm trying
to work this out myself, but despite a lot of fooling around with the config
files I'm still getting an error from Army Builder itself.
The program installs fine, and at first seems to run, but then when it tries
to access my license disk it kicks out the error "Failed to Prepare Product
Launch" and I get nothing but an "OK" button which then closes the program.
If any of you have AB on Linux, and are successfully running it I'd very much
like to know the following things:
1. Which distro of Linux are you using?
2. Which distro and version of wine are you using?
3. Did it work right off the bat with no problems, or did you have to tinker
with your wine settings?
If you do have AB running under Wine I'd like a copy of your wine config files
to see what settings you're using. They should be in:
/etc/wine
and/or
/home/username/.wine
