Best I can think of right now is the acmp option attribute. Have the
user select an option on each unit of A, that allows another unit of B
(maybe use types to keep them from adding it to the first unit of A -
I'm not quite sure how you could do that, unless no units of B were
allowed at the beginning (since you nee 2-4 A anyway))

Subject: [AB] Comp rule question.

Hello, Here's a little back ground info:

There are two comp groups, A and B. Your army must have 2-4 units from
comp A. Your army may have up to one unit from comp B. For each unit
form comp A your can have one unit from any where in the army list.
This could be another unit form comp B.

The question:

How do I get AB to only allow 0-1 unit from comp B and up to three more
units form comp be when a matching number of units are from comp A? I
don't want the user to be able to just select 4 units form comp B with
out having the right amounts of units form comp A.

There is what I am currently using for a comp rule:

HQ:umin=1,Cmbt:umin=2&umax=4,Sprt:umin=0&umax=1,Divl:urelu<=Cmbt

As you can see, it meets the first half of my comp rule but does not
allow for the extra units form comp B due to there being "x" number of
units form comp A.

Hope this makes some since.

Thanks,

Keith

Just realized - start by not allowing B, and on each unit of A, have a
hidden, auto-selected option that uses acmp to add an allowed unit of B.
I think B will still show up in the available units list as long as it's
mentioned in the composition rules (perhaps umax=0 is the only
composition rule you need).

Am I going mad or is the Army Builder wrong for Saving throws on Norman knights? It says that they have a basic saving of 3+ but when upgraded to heavy armour they are 2+, is that right?
Knights that fight on foot says 4+ but with the heavy upgrade they are 3+?

I thought only cavalry with barded horses get 2+ saving or am I wrong? I suppose I must be since I have always though AB files and list to be 100% correct.

Alec the confused.

Subject: Range attribute questions

I guess I don't have firm (if any) grip on how this works. Here's what I have:

Unit "A"comes with 2 Half-tracks in it. Both half-tracks come with a machine gun. One of the half-tracks has the option to upgrade the MG to an anti-tank gun. I gave the Half-tracks, which are added to unit "A" as a child unit at a size of 2:2, the option for a MG (linked via auto) and an option for an anti-tank gun (linked via Cost). I then gave the child unit of half-tracks the local attribute: rmdr:Weapon=#-option=xMG1. The MG has a category of "Standard " and the special attributes of: rang:1-2-start=2-unit=lpSK250a and dsab. The anti-tank gun has a category of "Weapon" and no special attributes. I just want each half-track to come with a MG and when the user selects the anti-tank gun, one of the MGs is replaced with the anti-tank gun. What else do I need to do?

Thanks,

Keith
