Hey all, does anyone know how I would go about adding the Campaigne
Force tracker option to the Space Wolf with Wolf Guard Armylist?

Thanks,

John Coley

Hello!

Colin, will you add the Brettonian Warband from Towncryer #8?

Thanks,

Dieter

I think I've added it already. If not, it'll be in the next version.

As soon as I pick up a copy of town cryer 8 (tomorrow).

You'll have to excuse the lack of Mordheim updates; there was nothing
seriously wrong with the files, and I've been in the middle of doing 11
different things, all of them annoying, for the past month or so.

The next Mordheim update will probably be the last ever ...

... until AB2 is released :)

Sorry for being offline for a few days. I've been buried with all the
details for the upcoming V2.0 release.

There is no way to enforce a minimum or maximum roster size from the data
files. Usually, enforcing a minimum is rarely a problem, since most gamers
are going to try and squeeze every point they can out of an army list. :-)
For the maximum, just check the validation report at the bottom of the
roster. At the top of the roster, it will clearly say XXX points army -
make sure it's the proper value. Then, if the army list goes over that
point cap, a validation message will be generated by AB, so everything you
need should be in the validation messages.

Thanks, Rob

This is due to some problems with how option chaining is handled in V1.4.
When chaining of options that trigger actions on each other is used, AB can
get itself confused. This has been overhauled and works quite well now in
V2.0, but it's a problem in V1.4. :-(

Please note that using "show" on an option that is chained via "more"
simply won't work. "show" will only work on options that are attached
directly to the unit.

I recommend "living with" this issue for the time-being. This issue CAN be
worked around, but the amount of effort will be quite high. With V2.0
coming out next month, I recommend not investing all that work only to have
it be good for a few weeks. :-)

Hope this helps,
Rob

Subject: Creating a New Data Definition

Ok, I am just starting to use this wonderful piece of soft ware, but
I can't seem to find a way of changing the datadef for some of my way
older gaming systems such as Rogue Trader (40k first edition). Is
there a way to change the stat lines to fit my needs, or does this
require a rewrite of some source code. If so what is the language
used to create Armybuilder.

Changing the definition file is handling through the tool ABDef (and
possibly ABUndef). Full details on how to use these tools, as well as all
the gory details of the definition file contents, can be found in the
Construction Kit User Manual. It is installed with the Construction Kit,
which can be downloaded from the web-site (go to the Additional Downloads
page).

Mucking with definition files is a somewhat daunting task for many, so
brace yourself for some learning curve. Also, be very careful when mucking
with the definition file, since changes to the definition file can easily
make the data files invalid. Definition files are intended to be (mostly)
written first and then the data files written on top of them. If you plan
to preserve the existing 40K files, you will likely have major problems
effecting changes to the definition files. You will liklye be best off if
you plan to write your data files from scratch, but that's also a heck of a
lot of work. This isn't intended to scare you off (although it might).
Rather, this is just to make sure you brace yourself for the effort ahead.

If you run into questions about how best to solve things within AB, some of
us on this forum will do our best to point you in the right direction. All
we require is two things. First, that you don't assume we know the rules to
the game, which means that you provide us with details on the particular
game mechanic you are trying to solve. Second, that you do your best to
lookup answers yourself before asking. We enjoy thought-provoking problems
to tackle, but we hate answering questions that are clearly answered in the
docs.

Hope this helps,
Rob
