Subject: Line Markers

I seem to be having trouble with the line marker "; " in all the
notes sections of the objects file. It doesnt is being ignored on the
screen when right clicking on objects and units and in the printout
as well. I'm using 2.x of AB from the cd with th updates to 2.2
downloaded. have tried this: " ; " and that doesnt work either. Also
the conflict message that comes up when there is a an object conflict
should have a line of its own due to the '; " but it doesnt. Anyone
got any ideas?

Subject: How To - Custom Output Extensions

Hi Everyone,

I have just released full details on how to create Custom Output Extensions
for Army Builder. Custom output extensions allow Army Builder to generate
100% custom roster sheets, including data cards, ship sheets, etc. Included
in the release is a full printing engine AND a complete API for reading
Army Builder output. All the hard work is already done, so you can simply
extract the data with the provided functions and place it in the printouts
where you want it. Minimal programming IS required, although the complete
source code for the CAV extension is included as a fully working example.

You can download this new material from the Lone Wolf Development web-site
at www.wolflair.com. You'll find it in the Cool Extras section under Custom
Output Extensions. You can also download it directly at
www.wolflair.com/download/aboutext.zip.

Please note that this is NOT a new release of Army Builder, although these
materials do require that you be using the latest V2.2a release of the
product. This download is SEPARATE for the moment. This material will be
incorporated into the Construction Kit when the next AB release occurs at
some point in the future.

For those of you who wanted to print your rosters out exactly the way YOU
want them (e.g. index cards, different layout, graphical ship sheets,
etc.), you now have that ability. Have fun!

Thanks, Rob

The ';' delimiter does not always insert a line break. The exact behavior
depends on the context in which you are using AB. For example, if you
include a ';' within comments or notes for an option, each of the segments
should be displayed on separate lines when you right-click on the optoin
within the Options Panel. However, the same segments will be displayed on
the same line, simply being separated by a ';' within the printed roster
output. If you right-click on the UNIT and select Show Roster Notes, you
will see the printed roster output with the ';' as a separator. Since the
"conflict" message is treated as another note for output, it behaves the
exact same way.

If you want to force AB to put all options on separate lines, you can do
so. To do this, go to the Settings menu, select Output Settings, and make
sure that the Options on Separate Lines item is checked.

Hope this helps,
Rob
