OK, I'm only going to say this once.....

*** READ THE FRICKING MANUAL!!! ***

If you were to READ the manual, you would quickly learn that the other
tools are COMMAND LINE tools. You are given explicit instructions about how
to USE them in the MANUAL. Now go and READ the MANUAL, follow the
INSTRUCTIONS provided therein, and come back with questions that are not
blatantly apparent in the MANUAL. :-P

Thanks, Rob

V2.0b should NOT be creating ANY new directories. The only way it would
have created a new directory is if you specified one when you installed
V2.0b. If you don't specify otherwise, it will overwrite the previous
version in the old directory. Most likely, you now have two copies of AB
installed on your computer. I recommend deleting the old copy to avoid
possible confusion in the future.

Thanks, Rob

I copied the files over to the old directory, and have had no problems.

I do have ab 1.4, so that I can use the old files; should I blow this one
away?

If you have a registered copy of V2.0 (or the CD), I don't know of any
reason why you would need to keep V1.4 around. V2.0 can read all the old
data files, so you should be able to gain all the benefits of V2.0 without
any penalties. :-) The only problem you might run into is with old data
files that rely on bugs in V1.4 that have been fixed in V2.0. I think there
was a problem with monster mounts for WFB5 in this way, but John has been
notified and I don't know if he's published a fixed set of WFB5 files yet.

If you DON'T have a registered copy of V2.0 and your V1.4 copy IS
registered, you probably WOULD want to keep V1.4 around (due to the roster
size limit imposed by V2.0). :-) Maintaining V1.4 and V2.0 simultaneously
would be the only reason I can think of to keep two copies around. However,
I don't see much value in it if you have a full copy of V2.0. :-)

I hope that helps to explain things better....

Thanks, Rob

Will you be adding the new race of the Shadow Elves soon? They are found in
the Town Crner issue 10.

[SOAP BOX ON]
For all of you data file users out there, there is usually the
authors email address in the data file information section. Try
opening Army Builder Help->About Loaded Files.
For Necromunda (and others) there is also a FAQ. Help->Necromunda FAQ
which has authoring information in it. We didn't put all that
information in there for nothing you know! If you still can't figure
out who wrote the files, check the email address of the person who
posted the files to ab-files. It's right there next to the file in
the "submitted by" column. If that fails, www.wolflair.com has all of
the known authors for data files next to the game on the datafile
download pages.
[taking a few deap breaths and getting off the soap box... :-]

I am the person who updates the Necromunda files. I have already
asked you what you are trying to achieve with them in case I could
help... I'm not going to send you the text file for datadef.nec. You
should be perfectly capable of creating it yourself using the tools
provided in the construction kit :-)
(Hint: Read the manual - it's near the back under the heading "The
ABUndef Tool". Then you'll need to read the bit titled "The ABDef
Tool" about a page before it :-)

Enjoy,
Russell.
