Deleting campaigns

Hi all. Is there a way to delete unwanted campaigns yet? For some reason I have 3 campaigns all with the same name only one of which I use. I would like to clean up the UI. No big deal but it would be nice. I did a search and couldn't find any earlier request/mention. Thanks!

P.S. I love the product btw. I'm having a conference call tonight with some friends to show them what it's like. As a few people have said already, it is more than I would have hoped and I don't regret the $80+ I spent in the Kickstarter.

I don't think you can delete a campaign yet; I rename the campaigns to something like zGoingtoDeleteThisCampaign so it just shows at the bottom of the list until deleting is implemented.

Still no delete.

Think of the cloud database as a giant house of cards, with every campaign ever created as a new card in the house.

Now there is probably a quick and dirty "delete" function that could be run, and that would be the equivalent of yanking a card out of the house.

I would bet that LWD wants a more robust solution that first shores up where the card is getting yanked from so the entire thing doesn't come crashing down.

So we have to live with old realms in our lists for the time being until such a time that deleting realms becomes a high enough customer service issue that they need to tackle it the right way. Then we will get our "delete realm, no take-backs" button.

What @DeckOfManyThings said. :) Basically, deleting a realm has a few complicated edge cases, especially when it comes to coordinating syncing of all the details across multiple computers. We could either (a) delay release further to get that sorted out or (b) ship without it and have it be our #1 priority (other than bug fixes) after release. We opted for (b) and realm deletion IS the #1 thing we'll be getting sorted out for the next release.

Since the workaround suggested by @enrious is quite simple in the interim, we figured it was a worthwhile tradeoff to get the product into the hands of everyone who's been clamoring for it for so darn long. Proper and complete deletion will be available shortly. :)

okay, i get it. When the Beta was released to Kickstarter backers, I had a glitch where when I tried to create realm it just sat there and did nothing. I hit the button a few times and nothing. I closed the program and reopened it and there were 6 Realm1 files on my list. I've never had the glitch since.

Yeah. I created one of my realms last night accidentally including tutorial content when I didn't mean to and clicked cancel partway through. Then unchecked it and created it again. I ended up with two.

Eventually yes but I'm not working on 6 or more campaigns at the same time. 2 is enough right now. I'm waiting for the tutorials for Scifi and superhero campaigns.
Just for now just do the rename work-around. So the ones you want to delete are at the bottom of the list and then you do not have to worry about them. Meanwhile they are not going to slow things down for you at all or hinder things in Realm Works and such. So theoretically it is a minor thing :)

Um, what would we put in tutorials for scifi and superhero campaigns that's different from the tutorials we've already put out? The mechanisms within Realm Works are completely generic, and the concepts outlined in the tutorials should theoretically apply the exact same way for fantasy, historical, scifi, superhero, horror, and any other genre. The names in the tutorials are often skewed towards fantasy, but that's simply because the largest percentage of RPG players/GMs play fantasy games. The concepts are all the same.

If there are specific things that we are failing to cover in the tutorials that are important to scifi and/or superhero campaigns, please flag them so we can make a point to get them added. Our goal is to have the tutorials be equally useful to all users, regardless of what genre(s) they play. And I'm not aware of anything we've omitted that makes RW not usable for non-fantasy genres.

There are definitely more advanced features that we haven't covered in the tutorials at this point, but I *think* those features similarly apply to all users. And more tutorials are planned, but they are in competition with getting important features added to the product, so it's a real juggle. If anything important is missing, please let us know. :)

Won't the "I'm gonna delete this eventually" realms count against cloud storage limits.

as an aside, what are the storage limits? The promo information that I've read so far seems a bit vague ("comparable in size to a complete, six-installment Pathfinder Adventure Path", since I don't play Pathfinder it provides me no information).

How exactly does entering data for sci if / superheroes differ to fantasy settings?

For an example,

Let's say I want to data input Hobbiton from Lord of the Rings.
It's a place where people live and there is a famous person that resides there. Bilbo Baggins.

Now I'm thinking of inputting Mega City one from 2000AD
It's a place where people live and there is a famous person that resides there.
Judge Dredd

Now I'm thinking of inputting Gotham City.
It's a place where people live and there is a famous person that resides there.
Batman

The only difference is the flavour of the setting not the actual basic facts.

All you'd need to do is input setting specific details.

Makes sense to me! I'm quite happy to wait a bit to delete a realm that I'm not using if I can use the program in the meantime.

Deleting realms will be in the next feature release of Realm Works, so it's going to be available VERY soon. Until we get that into place, nobody is going to be flagged for having too much data.

Each Paizo Adventure Path installment is roughly 100 pages of material with extensive maps, character artwork, etc. So multiply that by six to get a complete AP. The actual storage limit will probably work out to be a little bit higher, but that should give you a good initial ballpark. You're looking at 600+ pages of material, including maps, artwork, etc.

Hope this helps!

I know that its all basically the same but i remember one of the videos early on talking about doing tutorials for those genres. The video had a woman's voice. I just figured there might be some tricks we don't know about.

All videos with a woman's voice are the most recent videos that are on our website now. They are the virtual tour and official tutorial videos.

Could you please identify the video that's misleading in this regard? That way, we can address the confusing bits with an edit and ensure that accurate videos are released.

Thanks in advance for pointing it out! :)

Rob, starting at the 50 second mark in your very first tutorial video (the welcome one), there is the promise of later videos that will explore using the program in genres other than fantasy.

I knew it was there somewhere. Thanks for finding it.
