using the ultimate CombatArmor/DR option looking for information on how to modify a version of bracers of armor, to bracers of defense. to give a bonus to defense value instead of the DR value.

any help please. new at trying to use the editor.

If you make a normal set of bracers of armor, won't they just be turned into DR automatically? How would your project differ from that?

He doesn't want DR (which absorbs damage), he wants them to add to Defense (which makes him harder to hit).

These hypothetical bracers, do they add a deflection bonus? A shield bonus? Or untyped?

Go to THIS post and watch the four part YouTube video. It walks you through the process of changing a cloak of Resistance to a Clock of AC giving a Dodge bonus to AC.

Its 90% exactly what your asking to do here. Should get you up to speed nicely.

This got me thinking about a bad joke regarding a Clock of Alarm, but then I realized that actually could be a magic item. I may introduce one of these into my campaign. Thanks for the inspiration. :)
