Hiho everybody,

I'm a new Army-Builder-user from Germany. My friends and I play
Warhammer 40k 2nd Edition and now i'm searching for Datafiles for it
but I cannot find them. Are they not existend? I cannot believe this!
Please mail me the files or send me an adress where I can find them.

i just need the english codices to do them :)

I already got eldar and IG but the rest hasn´t reached me yet.

You send the codices, i send the datafiles and we have a deal, right?

Erm ...
Is it just me or does it seem pretty poiintless that 3 different
groups out there try to make their own 40k2 datafiles?
By far the easiest must be to get a german-fluent guy translate the
german ones, then work out the rest? - 'Far as I remember, they are
not complete.
BTW I have all the Codices, am (semi-)fluent in German, and has
played 40k2 since '93.
I'm quite willing to be _part_ of the team, but I just don't have the
time to do it all.
And, No, I won't part with the codices.

Very Shagadelic! After my intial block dissolved, I
got some serious work done on the Ork and Tyranid
stuff. Gotta nother question. How do you tie the
number of an option into the number of the unit
itself? Basically, how do I make it so you can just
select 0-1 Deathspitter per Tyranid Warrior, but these
choices 'decrease' based on whether you take a Venom
Cannon or not? And have all of this be 'maxed' by the
unit size number (i.e. if there's 3 Warriors in the
brood, you can't take like 6 Deathspitters). Am I
making any sense at all here?

The problem about combining efforts is that our
definition files are different. I just finished the
Tyranids 2nd edition for AB and am almost done with
Orks, but had to alter my definition file as I went
along. Chances are I'll have to alter it again before
I'm done with all the armies (under 2 months right
now). About the German, I'm not sure he incorporates
all the little rules about 'when choosing this unit
you have to have the gradmother's roommate of this
unit for a reduced cost' and other such wonderful
rules. I'm just hoping the Orks are the worst of this
(4 days to input/interlink them as opposed to 4 hours
for the bugs).

BTW, most of the German data files are empty.
Translating nothing gives nothing in return ;)
Personally, I've just decided to bite the bullet and
try and make the best damn datafiles I can. But the
changing nature of the definition file (I had to alter
mine about 40 times while doing Orks, it's simple but
you can't post every edit to the .txt file, too
time-consuming) makes it nearly impossible for a
'committee effort'.

You need to use the "ocat" and "must" attributes to constrain the selection
counts, plus you can use "rmdr" to assign all remainder slots to a given
option. You also need to use the '#' limit, as this maps to the model count
of the unit.
