Dark Sun for 3.5

Provos as this is for 3.5/d20 is there any reason your seeing so far that we could not include this in the d20 project? We already have allot of Dragonlance and some Eberron. Don't see why we could not include Dark Sun also. Would increase the ease of people getting your stuff.

We can easily add a new Parent source for Dark Sun in the next release so all your stuff can get source marked below it.

Also don't forget to check out the d20 project as it has hundreads of the 3.5 splat books in it and at this time about 2-3 times as much feats and things as HL Core. So if nothing else it is good to get so you can take a look at how scripts function. No reason to reinvent the wheel. ;)

Let me know....

I have no problem with this being in the d20 community project. I just did not want to submit it until I know that it works 100%. I have previously submitted a class to the 1.6 release and am working on adding more.

I am now working to add the weapons from Athas.org DS campaign setting and Athasian Emporium.

If anyone wants to work on classes, feats, spells, psi stuff go right ahead. I would love the help.
The pdf of the rules are free and can be found campaign setting DS3_r7.pdf and the Athasian Emporium

So after reading about your changes and stuff and how heavy those changes maybe to the core mechanics I am thinking if we release this it may need to be its own data set maybe instead of being combined into the d20 one?

Do you agree with what you have done so far and have plans for?

I can see what you mean. There are a lot of changes to base that will not mesh with other sources.

How would I remove other sources I don't want from this "version" of d20? I have the communtiy files included and I would like to remove some extra books and campaign settings.

Error within Dark Sun Dataset

looks like the Thri Kreen language is missing!:(

Hero Lab was forced to stop compilation after the following errors were detected:

Thing 'rthrkre' - Bootstrap thing 'lKreen' does not exist

Two things. I just got the updated fix for this today. Two the version in DropBox is from RavenX for Pathfinder. I will be adding it to the powered by d20pfsrd update feature.

Where Provos's version is for d20. :)

It was the D20 version that threw the error I just removed the data files whilst awaiting the fix. :)

Guys the version I gave Shadow Chemosh is a Work In Progress and has a few things that still need to be implemented. Due to other higher priority data files needing to be done I have had to let this project sit on a back burner for a while. I would like to point out that my data set is NOT for 3.5, it was designed as an Update to the Pathfinder rules for those of us using that set of rules for the game. As such some of the data will not match up with what was presented in the Athas.org files. For example, the Templar class was changed into a Cleric Archetype. The Archetype offers you the same functionality that the class does, without me having to spend 20+ hours coding up one class to do what 3 hours of coding an archetype will do. To gain access to sorcerer king domains, simply select your sorcerer-king in the deity section.
Note that Kalak is listed as one of your options, this is intentional as I wanted the data to be sufficient for use in any play period during, before or after the events of the prism pentad series.

Weapon materials, money?

I just took a look at this dataset and noticed there doesn't seem to be a provision for standard weapons made of bone, wood or stone. Anybody thought about a good way to handle this? I can see adding a new Material for each of the three that can be added to a Custom weapon, but that can be unwieldy when trying to add multiple weapons to a character. Or I can see adding a duplicate weapon for each of the basic ones, one for each new material... but that would result in quite a long list. The major factors this would be used for are item cost, weight, and attack modifiers.

And then there is the question of the monetary system... because of the heightened value of metal, the standard is not gold pieces but is ceramic pieces instead. This makes all metal items cost quite a bit more than normal... so you'd have to adjust the costs of every standard item. Any thoughts on how to handle this?

On the pathfinder conversion, I added them as "Materials".

Is that supposed to be part of the release in the HL Community Repository? I don't see those materials listed.

How did you handle the changes in the monetary system?
